FRC Group
FRC Group are a pioneering group of social businesses who strive to make community and environmental change happen through a number of social enterprise projects.
They created a training programme over 10 years ago that enabled people who had been out of work for more than a year to gain LGV Class II Driving and Fork Lift Truck licences and the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare them for a career in the logistics industry.
Individuals get the chance to gain employment in a supportive environment where they learn all the soft skills required to sustain long term employment and much valued qualifications that are essential and desirable for working in logistics. Trainees were very enthusiastic about the positive impact of the programme and the fact that 26% of permanent staff were previous trainees is a real credit to the programme’s ethos.
Beyond this, the programme has been a real success, most of the trainees achieved at least five qualifications and almost 80% have since found jobs, FRC Group has really achieved its goals of creating an excellent social return on investment from the programme.
FRC Group are also commended for the commitment to learning and development they have shown by
making the Skills Pledge.
