Peter Rogerson, OBE, FIoR

Peter was appointed CITB-ConstructionSkills Deputy Chairman in April 2001. He was re-appointed in 2006 and 2008. He also chairs the CITB Construction-Skills Training Committee and the National Construction Colleges Advisory Committee.

Peter is Chairman of the Trustees of the ITB Pension Funds and of their Investment Committee and Management Panel. ITB Pension Funds is a large Multi-Employer Final Salary Scheme covering Members, Deferred Members and Pensioners of the two remaining and many of the former Industry Training Board’s and their residuary and successor bodies. It has 8,450 members and pensioners and funds under management of £850 million

He is a Past President of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC). He was a founder member, and is a Fellow of, The Institute of Roofing and a past Governor of the Institute. He is also the UK representative to the Board of IFD the International Federation of Roofing Contractors based in Germany.

He is a past President of NSCC and is still a member of their Management Board and Council. He has been a governor of various schools and was Chairman of the Yorkshire Roofing Training Group 1976-1999. He is a past Chairman of the Princes’ Trust, North Yorkshire.

He joined the family business of George Rogerson Ltd (formed in 1890), subsequently Rogerson Group Ltd, in 1966, as Estimator/Contracts Manager, and became Chairman in 1970. The Rogerson Group of Companies, in addition to its roofing and cladding activities, was involved in sheet metal fabrication, plant and tool hire, with a group turnover in excess of £20 million p.a. Mr Rogerson sold his controlling interest in the business in 2001.

Peter was born on 22 May 1944 at Gildersome, Leeds, and was educated at Morley Grammar School and the Leeds College of Building.

He was awarded to OBE for services to the Construction Industry in 2004.
