Ian Walters
Ian Walters was appointed Chief Executive of Action Mental Health (AMH) on 1st January, 2002. AMH, a charity, provides a wide range of services to people with mental illness or a learning disability. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of TEA from September 1995 to December 2001.
Ian Walters is an engineer by academic training having graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester – Institute of Science and Technology in 1965. He was awarded a post graduate Diploma in Management Sciences in 1966. He then joined the engineering industry where he occupied management positions in Belfast in the late 60’s/early 70’s. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, a Member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
