Jenny Shackleton

Jenny Shackleton is Head of Skills Development at UK Skills.

Since 2003 Jenny has led the selection, training and preparation of the UK’s WorldSkills Team, which in 2005, 2007 and 2009 achieved progressively higher scores and rankings.

From 1973-1999 Jenny Shackleton held a number of management roles in vocational education and training, culminating in 12 years as chief executive of a major further and higher education college.

Upon retirement from her substantive roles she has taken on a range of roles in vocational education and training for both excellence and disadvantaged people.

Jenny was a member of the National Commission on Education and a number of other national bodies; she is the author of several books and chapters on policy and practice in education and training.
