Alumni Code of Principals and Practice
UK Skills and its partners have a deep and lasting respect for all former competitors who have represented the UK in the WorldSkills Competition over many cycles.
UK Skills recognises that while former WorldSkills competitors are a unique resource for the promotion of vocational education and training, access to that resource must not be assumed, and has to be explored and developed on a reciprocal, respectful and professional basis.
UK Skills, with its partners, undertakes to:
- Design and establish a varied and progressive Alumni offer
- Ensure that the offer is balanced in its range
- Ensure that the offer includes opportunities for individual growth and development
- Set out clearly the terms on which the offer is made available
- Communicate clearly to all stakeholders the basis upon which the Alumni programme runs
- Be readily available to clarify issues and allay concerns
- Raise any issues and concerns with you at an early stage
- Work with you towards our common purpose in a climate of mutual respect and professionalism.
In return, UK Skills and its partners look to you to:
- Consider the Alumni offer and make choices according to your needs and aspirations
- Make the most of the opportunities that you commit yourself to
- Represent UK Skills, its partners and yourself in a professional manner
- Show respect to all involved in the WorldSkills project
- Raise any issues and concerns at the earliest appropriate moment
- Keep UK Skills informed of any circumstances arising that have a bearing on your involvement.
