About WorldSkills UK
WorldSkills UK is the UK’s premier set of skills competitions for young people and adults run every year in around 70 different skills. WorldSkills UK competitions run both regionally and nationally thoughout the UK and aim to help lift standards of training and performance promoting world class skills and international competitiveness.
WorldSkills UK Competition Awards
Each year, UK Skills hosts an Awards Ceremony for all gold winners of the national competitions cycle, WorldSkills UK.
The Award Ceremony recognises young people who have won gold medals in WorldSkills UK competitions and is a celebration of their excellence and innovation.
The students' work is showcased as much as possible - and examples are usually displayed in the foyer area of the event premises. View WorldSkills UK 2008 Award Ceremony photos.
In November 2009, UK Skills and Edge launched two new annual awards for WorldSkills, UK Alumni members. The categories are:
- The most Valuable Contribution to Skills and Practical Learning - by a former Team UK competitior at the WorldSkills Competition
- Outstanding Achievement - by a former Team UK competitior at the WorldSkills Competition
The Awards are open to all past WorldSkills Team UK competitors and further details will be circulated early in 2010.
